On hearing these words, she went into the dense forest of the Mathura mandal to do her penance(Tap). She did a powerful penance due to which, all the
devtaas started fearing her power and so, they rushed to lord Vishnu. Then the Prabhu along with the devtaas then went to, where tulsi was performing
her penance. Seeing her single-minded devotion the Prabhu felt very pleased and granted her the boon that all the three worlds(Aakash, Dharti and
Paatal) would always join their hands in prayer towards her. And only on her behest, would the Prabhu partake the offerings of the Yagna, the fruits and
any other offering made at her lotus feet.
Tulsi simply personifies Bhakti(Devotion). Hence, whenever Atma-Nivedan is done or in Nitya Seva the tulsi is offered at the Lotus feet of the Prabhu
with the same sentiment as mentioned above. It signifies that the devotee occupies his place at the lotus feet of the prabhu. It is only in pushtimarg that
a Woman, a Shudra or Dalit is empowered to offer Tulsi at the Prabhu's feet. Such an act of his, increases his devotion(bhakti) and any defferents that
come his way of performing sevais diminished or done away with and he is granted a new 'Aalaukik Deh' or body to perform the seva of the Prabhu.
Where there is Tulsiji, the prabhu is sure to be there. Hence, the gopijan, in Gopigeet first ask Tulsiji the whereabouts of the Prabhu.
