SEVA PRAKAAR

On this day the PRABHU is awakened at 4 am in the morning. Mangla darshan and Aari is done inside and the devotees do not get to have the glimpse of

the Mangla darshan. The vastra and ornaments of Diwali are retained and only red coloured Gokaran is adorned on the Kuleh. Abhyang is not given. The

Peetamber adorns the hands of Shriji and both edges of Peetamber points upwards. Kalgi is replaced with a pan and both Gopivallabh and Rajbhog are

offered together. Rajbhog aarti is done on a thali depicting Ashtadal
. Rajbhog aarti is a closed curtain affair. The devotees cannot have a glimpse of

Rajbhog darshan at the temple. Then the PRABHU is seated on a Sangamaachi at the place where the Govardhan pooja is to be performed.


In Rajbhog laddoo, sakhdi, dal, vadi nu shaak, teen kuda, papad, kacharia, sev, bilsaaru etc
. are offered.


























THE METHOD OF PERFORMING GOVARDHAN PUJA


   Small Girirajji is made of gobar (cowdung) is placed facing the north and the tail end or (puuch ni disha) should be south facing. Then leaves of banana,

stems of madhumalti plant etc. are to be planted or stuck on to it. On the western side of this Shri Girirajji make place for the sheela roop Girirajji. Lamps

should be lit on all the four sides of Shri Girirajji. Then using Abeer and Gulal draw lines on all the four sides of Shri Girirajji and cover it in all the four

sides. White chandarva curtains and pichwais are to be tied. For the pujan assemble the following in the plate - water, milk, curd, soaked and ground

turmeric, vermillion(kanku), yellow rice, a bowl of aragjaa, chandan, four beedas, two mala, tulsi, shankh (conch), mukhvastra, Shri Yamuna jal ki jhaari,

dhoop, aarti, Mansi Ganga ka jal, jhalar
, shankh, ghanta, pots coloured with turmeric for Kunwara having two sev laddoos, and two mathris. Then the

Thakorji seated on the throne near This Girirajji and offered beedi. The cows are then brought here. Then place a red coloured cloth where the sheela roop

Girirajji has to be placed. Then place the sheela roop Girirajji on it and prostrate before it. Then annoint the Girirajji with kumkum, akshat and offer tulsi

leaves and then do Aachman for Pranayam. after the sankalp to accompaniment of the musical sounds of Jhalar, Ghanta and Shankhnaad, Shri Girirajji is

given a holy bath with the water of Mansi ganga and then He is bathed with the conch or shankh and then with curd and finally again with water. Then He

is dried with anga vastra and then placed on a small table on which a cloth has been placed. Then He is sprinkled with Aragjaa and adorned with Pitamber.

Maalaaji is adorned. Then after anointing him with Kumkum and akshat, a Kamalpatra is made on him and he is sprinkled with kumkum. Then an uparna

has to be donned on the Gobar ka Girirajji and kumkum must also be sprinkled on him and impressions of our hands with kumkum and turmeric should be

made on him (kumkum hardal na chaap).



Then kunwara is offered. Dhoop, Deep, Tulsi and Shankhodak should be done and the curtain closed. Yellow coloured cloth should cover all the baskets

containing the Bhog. Afterwards, do the Aachman, Mukhvastra and offer Beeda and perform Aarti of the Govardhan. Then the prasadi mala and uparna

should be taken off. Then the prasadi should be distributed among staff and the sevaks in the temple. And impressions of both the hands dipped in the

Vermillion should be made on the backs. Then the Girirajji shila should then be placed near the Thakorji and the cows should be assembled in front of Shri

Thakorji. Then the cows should be sprinkled with Tilak akshat and be given prasadi laddoo to eat.



Then an uparna should be tied on the Gwaariyas head and he should be given a prasadi matla from the Kunwara bhog. Then Pradakshina of the cows

should be done. The PRABHU should then be offered Sheetal bhog (sweetened paan). Then the PRABHU should be seated on His Singhasan and then

Annakoot is to be offered. Two jhaarijis full of Jamauna jal and two pots filled with water should be placed on both the sides of Shri Thakorji. They should

be covered with cloth and a small vaatki that floats in the water should be placed within the pot.
